About Us

IbisVision is a reliable vision testing platform that combines clinical experience and disruptive technology to allow optometrists to seamlessly connect with their patients no matter where they are.

Formed in 2014, IbisVision aims to help the optical industry make eye care accessible for everyone and with the ability to be hosted over multiple environments, our software offers the unique opportunity to care for patients remotely.

Our vision for the future of optometry

IbisVision is here to ensure everyone has access to reliable eye care that aids in the early detection of vision threatening conditions. We want our software to build resilience in the provision of eyecare while disrupting the traditional one instrument, one test model of eye testing. This will allow clinicians and patients alike to have access to the newest technology with fast, responsive care.

Mark provides a wealth of experience in commercial and strategic development having managed, consulted and acted at executive and non-executive director level for numerous IT companies over the last 12+ years.

Chief Operating Officer

Justin has over 20 years of sales, marketing & business development experience in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He has numerous years of experience working as a Business Development Director in the Scottish SME community.
Mel Berwick

Commercial Director

Mel has over 13 years of board level sales and account management experience in the commercial environment with global brands. He has also spent the last few years working in the health informative and medical SaaS space.
Peter Estibiero

Technical Project Analyst

Peter has over 20 years of board-level experience in early stage biotech and medtech companies. He has been served in both technical and commercial roles taking technology from concept to market including over six years in ophthalmic medical device development.

Marketing Manager

Laura is an experienced marketing professional who has built and implemented marketing strategies for multiple businesses with particular expertise in the start-up space. She has a skill set that includes creating marketing strategies, social media management and content marketing.

Mr. David Teenan

Board Member & Clinical Advisor

An experienced ophthalmic surgeon, David Teenan has performed more than 41,000 procedures including LASIK and LASEK, with specialist interests in cataract and refractive surgery, cornea and external diseases. He is the UK Medical Director of the Optical Express International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) and is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Ireland Medical Council (IMC).
Tobias Stone

Non Exec Board Member

Tobias Stone is a start-up founder and angel investor. He is a professional board director sitting on the board of a range of start-ups, and a portfolio director at Deepbridge Capital. London, and has a PhD on designing tech accelerators innovation programs.
Michiel Smith

Non Exec Board Member

Michiel is an experienced non-executive director and informal investor. He is the Gatekeeper of Apollo Informal Investments and currently a non-executive director of several start-ups. He was born in the Netherlands where he obtained a master’s degree in Financial Business Economics and a post-graduate master in Financial Analysis. After completing his studies, he worked as an Equity Analyst, covering the retail, leisure and transport sectors. He was also responsible for setting up the socially responsible investment methodology within the Rabo Bank Group.
Jason Higginbotham

Consultant Optometrist

Jason is an Optometrist and Dispensing Optician with over 30 years’ experience in the field having previously held the role of Director of Medical and Education at Birmingham Optical. Jason now has his own consultancy business where he provides advice to multiple clients on a wide range of topics, from R&D and procurement to clinical training and education.

Simon is a Specialist Optometrist at Sunderland Eye Infirmary, Member of Clinical Research Network and current editor of the online academic journal, Clinical Optometry.

Tariq is a Professor at the University of Manchester and Consultant Ophthalmologist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
