“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members” (Coretta Scott King) and this is an excellent way to describe Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) and the work they're doing.
It was a delight to be invited along to the opening of the very first Scottish-based VCHP clinic in partnership with Crisis and sponsored by Specsavers. The main message of the event that took place on 26th June? Everyone should have access to adequate eyecare no matter their circumstances. A message very close to IbisVision’s own given our continuous work and drive to make eyecare accessible to anyone, anywhere and at any time with our software.
In a somewhat rainy Edinburgh, professionals from across the UK eyecare industry came together at Crisis Skylight, the location of the new clinic, to celebrate the opening of the new VCHP clinic, hear from the teams at VCHP, Crisis and Specsavers and make connections to further the great work that these organisations are doing. From a tour of the new clinic to hearing some inspiring and moving speeches, our team were glad to be in attendance for a charity that we have supported since 2022.
We commend the team at VCHP, their volunteers and the Crisis team for all the opportunities they are presenting to those who struggle to access eyecare and healthcare. The passion from these teams shone through at what was a great event to kick-off the start of a much-needed service for the local community and beyond. We’re looking forward to offering the further support of IbisVision in the future.
