This year’s theme, “Advancing Optometry’s Commitment to Global Eye Care,” highlights the vital role optometrists play in ensuring everyone has access to the eye care they deserve. Did you know that over 2.2 billion people worldwide experience vision impairment, and nearly half of these could have been prevented?

Optometrists are at the forefront of this global issues and this World Optometry Week campaign aims to highlight the important work that they do in ensuring equitable access to eye care. This week is the perfect time to celebrate these contributions and raise awareness about the importance of eye health. What can you do to participate?
